Ben Finn Finnegan (Matthew McConaughey) adalah orang yang ramah, pemburu harta karun modern yang terobsesi menemukan mas kawin Ratu abad ke-18 yang legendaries  40 peti harta karun yang hilang tahun 1715 di lautan. Finn sudah melakukan segala cara, termasuk menikahi Tess Finnegan (Kate Hudson). Saat Tess baru saja membangun kembali hidupnya, bekerja dikapal pesiar megah milik trilyuner Nigel Honeycutt (Donald Sutherland), Finn menemukan sebuah petunjuk penting letak harta karun tersebut Tess panik, tapi Finn justru ikut kedalam kapal pesiar Nigel dan menggunakan karismanya untuk merayu putri Nigel, Gemma (Alexis Dziena) untuk bergabung bersamanya mencari harta karun Spanyol tersebut. Namun ternyata bukan mereka saja yang mengincarnya. Mantan dosen Finn, Moe Fitch (Ray Winstone), dan Big Bunny (Kevin Hart) mencoba mendahului Finn. Perburuan pun dimulai
